Meh, he recommended a band and also made a post pertinent to the topic of conversation, I see no problem with it.

I listened to Padriac my Prince and Something Vague...was that not enough of a chance?

My last song just came out of my heart, and I was a pretty desperate man while it was being written, so good times.

I'm starting to go to the gym today, I hope.

Although buff songwriters don't exist, really.

Gaah!! I'm back guys...and I seem to have missed ALL the action!

So Sloth plagiarised and Burt's stepped down as Mod...

Burt, you better stay around, this place won't be the same without you!!

But yeah, sorry I haven't been around in what has probably been months. I've been through a total stinker of a time what with compelte loss of inspiration and willpower to write, and also so much schoolwork at points I felt like I was literally drowning in the stuff.

But it's all starting to slacken off, and today I went to 'Poetry Live' with school. Basically we met a load of the poets that we have been studying for our GCSE course. Some of it was complete rubbish, other parts were legendary (John Agard and Simon Armitage were fantastic).

So yeah, those two guys have inspired me to get back to my notepad and pull it all together again. So yeah, it's now critique time, and also tonight I am going to write until I get something worth writing.

Hope you're all ok and still writing!! I look forward to getting to know you all again!!

So.... sup thread. I've been writing soem decent stuff, but my computer and internet are conspiring against me, acting gay and not letting me do a lot. I'm at a friend's right now.

Hey i'm Josh, i've never posted in S & L but i've read quite a few threaRAB and hung around for a while.

I don't doubt this may have been done before but i was thinking we could get a lyric/poetry interpretation thread going. Like someone post lyrics or a poem from an artist/poet they like, the next person analyses it as they would with a user posted lyric, pointing out uses of good imagery..what's good and bad about it..the structure, flow etc etc etc I'm thinking it may help some people with recognising good use of these techniques that they can incorporate into their own writing, kind of like a practical "putting to use" of the better songwriters thread.

Has this been done before/failed...if so what happened? If not think it could work?
