I think the best way to get regulars is this: you find someone whose songs you like. This can be difficult, actually very difficult with new people. Once you find that person, encourage them to write, tell them what could be fixed and what they did well, tell them to write more songs or enter in LC, push them to come here more often. That's how we get regulars, they get critted and encouraged.

I don't understand swear filters either. I can understand people don't like extensive use of cursing on posts but the filter doesn't really stop it, it just changes the worRAB to some lame censored version, the word itself is just as obvious as if it were written, so what does censoring the word actually achieve? All it means is that worRAB are slightly harder to read, its not people don't figure it out anyway...so it does nothing for profanity prevention.

personally i could care less, i just think that curse worRAB do have a place in music and poetry and anyone who disagrees is stupid and backward, and that pathetic attempts at censoring profanity do more harm than good. Do you think Philip Larkin would have had the same notoriety if he'd said "your parents fusty nuglet you up?"

Okay so I have a poem up now if anyone wants to crit it. And even if you don't want to crit it, tell me if you like it. Just do a noob crit. So if you read it, just say whether it's good or bad, or crit if you feel the need. Any feedback is appreciated.

Good point. ;)

The problem is when people don't see the line between something they should just keep for themselves to appreciate and something that can be appreciated in a greater form when shared.
