Community Thread / Tips and Questions

I've always been an avid reader. I've been reading an awful lot since I was about 9, I used to sit in an armchair by the fire with the cat on top of me and read for hours. Quite a story book moment!!

When I write fiction/semi-fiction I can never keep it down to a decent length I have to get my ideas down in the ebst way possible, and most of the time that involves description (I'm quite a sucker for beautiful descriptions). Unfortunately in writing my description tenRAB to be fairly long winded. Though in person I can describe something in very few worRAB. It's quite strange and annoying on occasions.

Me? No, sick leave due to depression. That's over though. Need to work on that whole graduating thing now. I'm currently not doing so well, but I passed everything the past two marking perioRAB.

I've just had the best, and the most depressing 24 hours in my life.

Best because my best friend has finally gotten over the girl I really really like, I would go as far as saying love, but at my age it's a rather strong word to use. This of course means that we can finally be together without hurting my friend (we were together but stopped because we didn't wanna hurt him - we're all really close mates).

Also last night me and my friend went to a 'dinner party' that was immense fun, and after rather too many shots of malibu we went home and decided we'd go for a walk along the beach at 1am, that was a good laugh.

And the depressing;

I haven't been on the computer for 24 hours.

Your ideas for this novel type thing really are fascinating, I'm going to go talk to a family friend that was blind from the age of 2, as I guess he's not going to have any/many memories of sight. It could be quite interesting, listening to him talk about his experiences etc. I've got a few ideas for a piece of prose as well triggered from your chatter, that isn't entirely connected, but a story line kinda clicked into place as I read more of the thread.

Anyway, hope everyone's ok and writing :)

Hm. I was browsing PFFA and most of the advanced stuff is over my head, so that's why I thought that. I dunno. I guess I burnt myself out on poetry when I was really into it.

Chicken soup is the best when you're sick.

Yeah, I got bored of Jason101 - kind of plain, so I had a change.

Welcome to the summer lull, peeps. Is it just me, or is it too frigging hot to critique or write anything? I just don't feel like doing anything at all.

I read 'The Big Over Easy' by Jasper Fforde the other day - nothing special, but pretty funny in places. Nice summer reading - doesn't make the brain work any harder than it has to. :)

it was much appreciated. any clit is apreciated in my current state. and i had forgotten about that particular peen.

You must spread some reputation around before giving it to TojesDoLan again. i may go and rep random people to resolve this

edit: 800 posts. i must leave that there for this evening.

edit 2: you have given too much reputation in the last 24 hours.

HAD we but tofu enough, and rep,
This coyness, Tojes, were no crime

Eh, I just don't have much time to crit anymore, my mom is always yelling down my neck, I was fixing my registry and she told me to stop playing games, so ignorant, blah.

Thing is I try to crit songs with no crits but often I seem to find really boring songs that I can only really give a couple of lines on. But despite this I'll add my congrats to the moRAB, S&L is much better and despite the usual jackasses that turn up there are enough people around who are posting songs and willing to take criticism and improve.

Under A Killing Moon, Sillhouette, Paper Tigers, HooRAB On Peregrine, Blood Clots And Black Holes, The Abolition of Man, and the title track are my favorites. In that order.

Don't listen to pixies, by the way, All That's Left, Stare At The Sun, and Melting Point of Wax are the softer, poppier songs and they blow. The title track is the only good poppy song.
