.::Coming-of-Age/Teen Movies::.

Have any of y'all seen Little Darlings? It's an '80s movie about these two girls (Tatum O'Neil and Kristy McNichol) who are totally different and go to summer camp, and their campmates set up this bet between the two of them--by the end of the summer, whoever loses their virginity first wins. It's interesting to watch it, because usually the boys are the ones involved in bets like this in movies (American Pie, I'm looking at you), so to see two girls going against each other is pretty interesting. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

Welcome to the Dollhouse, a very funny coming of age story that starred Heather Matarazzo. Awesome film. Definitely check it out if you guys haven't seen it. :D

I've actually never heard of juice either :lol:
But Dancing on the moon, is just about this young girl name Madelyn whose growing up and this boy named Freddie has a huge crush on her but she can't stand him, and he ends up drowning and so Madelyn feels awful that she was so mean to him and she has 2 best friends that are growing up with her, one of the best friends is like obsessed with maturing and going through puberty :lol: it's just basically a young girl growing up, and she has this imaginary dog friend named Rex, and she kind of has to learn to grow out of that too.
I'm unsure of how the movie came about, how we ended up having it on VHS Tape, but I recently bought it on TV and still love it to this day.

I know right, it's so great to meet another CN fan! I loved that movie! It's such a great coming-of-age movie for those kids who's parents have them all set to be what they want them to be, but yet they defy convention & have that incredible summer of becoming who it is they want to be themselves.

I really loved the journey those boys went on to take a look at the corpse, but realized just what it was when they got there.

I watched Juice when I was a kid. If it's the one I'm thinking about, it's the one with Tupac. It's about a group of friends who have to deal with crime, and choosing to stay clean but losing respect -- or going along and risk death, jail, etc.. It's absolutely heartbreaking and I've never gotten over how it ended. :bawl:

I didn't really think of The Sandlot as a coming-of-age/teen, but I loved that one too!

Thank you. I also like movies like that-where you can relate to a certain character. I saw Sixteen Candles once, a long time ago. I liked it, but I cannot remember the ending. How did it end? I'm aslo like Sam from what you write... :)

I'm a total fan, I can resite the whole movie with out watching it cause I have watched it so many times. Its nice to see CampNOwhere fans there isn't many of them

Omg, you're a Camp Nowhere fan too?! I friggin' heart that movie! I love Mud, lol. I watched my DVD the other night & omg, love it just as much now as I did when I was growing up.

I concur. :) Sandlot + Now and Then= great coming of age movies, loved them all my life.

I don't think I've heard of Juice and Dancing on the Moon. What are those about? :)
