...don't know if it's worth it.? Ok, so lately I've been thinking about joining the Air Force Reserves. I have a college degree, but I don't feel that I'm doing much. I'm thinking of going into journalism or paralegal after basic training... If there's any women out there who can give it to me straight and offer some detailed info as to what it's like, what the pros & cons are? Are you still able to keep going to school after training?

Is deployment a sure factor? And how long are you deployed for, and where do they usually place women during deployments?

Yea, I have a lot of questions, and I'd rather hear it from actual people serving than the recruiter. Thanks so much & God Bless!

Umm... it doesn't matter to me that I'm a woman, and I'm not trying to seek special treatment. I just don't know anything about deployments, and I figured they have certain jobs or places where they prefer women to be at, and others for men. If that's not the case, it's fine. I just appreciate your honesty.

Reservists get deployed more then Active Duty and are sometimes out there longer. Best bet is to not half heart it and join Active Duty great benefits, free food and housing they pay for your schooling and you get to see the world all for free. If you were reserves you still wouldn't be doing much, you go in do your job then the rest of the month you are home. FYI the reservist contract is for 6 years where as the Active Duty is only for 4 years

Air Force most jobs are 3 day weekends if your a paralegal I doubt you will ever deploy, Air Force ,you need college to make rank, I never seen a Master Sergent that did not have a BA it just like a regular job you wear a uniform once you get out of basic and tech school you will never march again average deployment is 90 days if you ever go my wife was medical logistics she never went anywhere in 8 years I was maintenance I was gone all the time even if you go you paid very well for your travels money for food family separation pay hazard pay ,combat pay, flight pay, I would make an extra $2000 in 2 weeks plus my base pay they put you in a hotel they pay 100 percent of your college most people use T/A tuition assistance I never used my GI bill perks tons to many to list from money to fix your car every year to free gym membership you can rent boats campers no other job gives you a month pay for vacation do 24 years and you retire half pay rest of your life, some people can't make it I see people wash out in basic

Women like you in the military really piss me off. You get the same pay as men, and most of you do half the work and constantly scam out.

You get frikin deployed like everyone else. YOU AREN'T SPECIAL.

Where do they place women during deployments? THE SAME PLACE AS EVERYONE ELSE.

DO US ALL A FAVOR AND DO NOT JOIN.
