It's fine for you to voice your opinion about the movie. I think that's what makes movies great is because they're subjective, no definitive right or wrong.
Summed up, it's sort of like Godzilla for the MySpace and YouTube generation.
That said, I think that's what made Cloverfield really good. It's from the different POV, which is that of the party-goers trying to survive a monster attack. Most of the plot, an alternate reality game, is supposedly available on the inter-webs. There's some romance in the form of Beth and Rob, which turns into a fairly decent (albeit, a tad cliché) plot...
