Cleaning oil-soaked wetlands may be impossible

It is completely ignorant to think that we cannot one day be free of the need for oil, or seriously reduce it.
 
Blah Blah Blah, I work in the industry, I know the plans they use as we had to implement them for our jobs for BP Thunderhawk. Probably some of the most strict rules I have EVER had to abide by. Had to reconfigure so much on our ship to make sure it was up to par for us to do the BP job.

I have read all the articles above already when they were released. Yes, maintenance should be vigorously checked at all times and that is being questioned for components on the rig, but it would have done nothing to keep that place afloat. You must not know how difficult to run/plan/create the safety plans for a disaster that sinks a 20,000 ton platform. (Very lightweight guess on poundage)
 
huge hotbeds of wildlife right there getting fucked. bastions for migratory birds too. wetlands are like sponges that filter water nicely though, don't know if they can handle oil.
 
To see so many people talk out of their ass and think over night things should happen for this.

A lot is going to come out of this. I have discussed with a lot of people and things will change of course. I know the MMS will tighten up again for sure, which sucks for us but it will happen just cause.

I know that more foundations will be started thanks to BP's money as well as more info for us to engineer now. Hell, most people in the industry have never seen a pressure kick of that size let alone one that rips through 5,000ft of riser pipe and creates a blowout that went 250' past the topside Derrick.

Shit was nuts. Things will get fixed. It won't be done by the end of this year. The media will not care about it any more by the end of the month.

We get to learn about which movie star is cheating on each other in no time.
 
I haven't downloaded the fucking driver for volume on my computer yet, so I can't hear that video. I really want to though.
 
Yeah I heard about the wetlands situation on NPR yesterday. The only idea I've heard so far that sounds even semi-plausible is building sand bars near the outer barrier islands to try and catch oil before it gets to the wetlands and then they could later remove the sand/oil.

Half the shit you own probably is an end result of BP oil. Hell, half the clothes you are wearing right now most likely had BP oil used somewhere in the process.
 
I'm going to try to hit up the gulf coast as much as possible this month before it get's ruined. THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS it's my fav spot
