Cleaning oil-soaked wetlands may be impossible

Elaborate on the negligence that caused it, please? All I know is that there was an explosion.
 
the oil will choke out the plant and animal life. Hopefully it will just turn into mudflats and not be taken by the water. This way, once the oil has broken down enough, the plants can reestablish themselves. Apparently, it's not too hard for the plant life to recover, which is a good thing. It will take longer for the animals.
 
Yeah, one car is easy. You really think you're going to grow and extract enough to power 250 million vehicles?
 
Not likely, but not looking for solutions to reduce our dependence on oil is unacceptable.
 
they were going on about this on the radio yesterday saying how they seem to care more about pointing the finger and who's fault it is, than fixing it/realizing how big of a deal it really is
 
not much is explained beyond what types of hay they used, and where they get it from.

Well, then they shouldn't be drilling out there in the first fucking place. There, I said it. You work in the industry, I study disturbance ecology in wetlands. We are never, ever going to see eye to eye on this. Yea, I drive a car. Yea, i buy shit. blah blah blah. I'd rather spend more money on shit and have them safely get the oil out of the earth than half ass it and fuck it all up.
 
The layout on the drugereport is terrible, but it is an awesome source for news.

About the oil spill, I really hope it doesn't ruin the wet lands. It is a pretty important part of southern America. It is a same that we can't find a fix for the pipe break yet. Hopefully this will change the way off-shore oil drilling is legislated.
