Cleaning oil-soaked wetlands may be impossible

I am pissed BP didn't give a shit and government took their sweet time getting on BP to clean the mess.

JK

I USUALLY DIDNT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT NATURE AND STUFF BUT THIS OIL LEAK MESS IS REALLY UPSETTING

I think BP should be fined several million a day until they get the mess cleaned up. Irresponsible business practices? Yep you pick up the tab to fix the mistake and pay damages too.

There are a ton of fishermen and shrimpers out of work now too and while BP is giving some of them an "allowance" of sorts it's still not enough to pay their boat loans and their crews.

I think my ire is almost as strong towards people like Rush Limbaugh who blame the liberals in saying that since they won't let them drill in country or close to shore they are forced to drill way, way off-shore. It is precisely because of situations like this that most of us Americans, liberal or not, do not want drilling platforms sprouting up all over our coastlines and inevitably leaking, blowing up, spooging crude all over our lands.

and obviously those environmentalist pussies that are the ones 'screaming' about it on the internet and getting interviewed for news clips, etc

just like when you have online support forums for electronics products you always see the people bitching about their thing that needs to be fixed under warranty and you hardly ever have someone register just to say how good the product is

Working on a field and working in the middle of the ocean with a pipe going 4000' is very different.

They had no back up plan if something like this happened. That is what needs to change. We are just hanging out watching tons of barrels of oil seep from that pipe into the ocean daily and we still haven't found a solution.

What I meant by legislation change is to be more aware of all the things that could happen and have a plan for them.

Correct.

Why did people not care when Katrina happened and MULTIPLE platforms were knocked over spilling much more oil than this leak?

Our media is a steaming pile of shit.

I never said that we can cut away from petroleum, so quit putting words in my mouth. I was saying that BP was irresponsible in the way they are handling it and then I agreed with you on the "backyard" drilling saying if it was shallower, it would have been cut off sooner.

I think you're just reading what you want to see in order to disagree.

Everything does this. We dont have to worry about the war in Iraq anymore either! A short attention span is very calming.
