Classic/Iconic/Art films you think are rubbish

Am definitely with you on Dr Strangelove.

And while I fear being shot... I had no rave reviews about The Godfather... any part. Just didn't do it for me.

Scorcese's later gangster efforts that tend to attract a lot of critical bum-licking. Whilst there's no denying that Goodfellas is a slickly well-made film, neither is there any denying that most people only remember it for the swearing.

Acrockofshit Now by Crapola

fight club - a film where the main or only female character can't even get into 1 dimensionality never mind 2 or 3.

se7en

in fact any movie where white privileged men whine about the state of their masculinity - oh RAB -pi$$ off you whingeing ****

So American Beauty - on the list

anything by that smug git Robert Altman

Amelie, because of the grinning simpleton in lead role, repulsive!

Zabriske Point stinks, and I'm a psychedelia/floyd fan, but dear god it hums!

Easy Rider - more muscular hippies getting their balls in a twist.

The Doors - HUUUUUUUGE pile of shite about a shite individual and his buttock clenchingly bad 6th form poetry.

Jean Luc Goddard can get knotted as well.

There are more, but I won't go on, otherwise I'm likely to suffer paroxysms of incandescent rage.

Heh!

I definitely agree about 'If' (and all that dreadful blokes dreadful films) pretentious UK cinema at its worst.

Nb just noticed someone else cannot stand the Shawsank Salvation thingy either. Utter tosh.

Agree on both of these... A Bout De Souffle made me angry. Its so dull....and pointless and pretentious and I just hate it to be honest, and I will never understand the love.

Brick is okay but so overrated and just because the lead is less of a tw*t than the rest of the characters doesn't mean we should like him.

A lot of people IMHO have missed the point of the thread title. Many of the film titles being posted are by no means 'classic' or 'iconic' by any definition of the word. Things like Love Actually and Forest Gump, to name but two, are in no way classics or iconic.
