Classic Chart Show Showing On The Vault 356

That is true, doing a search on google I've found quite a few results from people who have only found out about them from internet message board, or the Wikipedia article. More widespread promotion is needed, spreading it to all the Chart Show owned channels is a start, and I think my suggestion of also showing them on Bliss could work too, especially as Bliss is on cable, and The Vault isn't which increases the potential audience striaght away. I know quite a few people who watch Bliss, Flaunt & Scuzz who don't watch the other chart show channels, so showing promotions (and even the episodes) on there would ceritnally make more people aware.

I've just looked on my Sky Guide and Classic Chart Show is not down for Saturday on the Vault at 11am or midnight.

I don't know if its moved, a mistake or the Vault has finally pulled the plug.

No offence, but there is no point in having a new chart show in this age. You have the top 40 being played nearly everyday on MTV channels and then there is specialist channels that suits different musical tastes. Plus not forgetting the internet such as YouTube and other video sharing sites that provide outlets for different types of music.
The Chart Show was great for the 80's and 90's, when non commercial music was rarely played on national television. I don't mind seeing classic episodes of the chart show from the 80's and 90's, but please don't bring a new version of it. It has been tried and it failed miserably. To be honest, programmes like Top of the Pops and The Chart Show don't deserve a new comeback !!!

I do seem to remember they had one running when Chart Show TV first launched. It didn't last long though, they got rid of it around the same time the channel shifted (originally their schedule was mainly charts, after a few months they changed it and scrapped most of the original charts and then it became mostly videos).

Good News for those of you that can see The old chartshow on The Vault Viewing figures are up and one show made it to No.2

I tried uploading it yesterday but damn myspace were playing me about so will give it another go today. I was surprised Dina Carroll was played but then i didnt think they had a lot of choice as a few songs had no vid and most of the others were going down. It is a good show 5 Dec 1992 really enjoyed it haven't watched it since it was originally broadcast

Count yourselves lucky if this show was being repeated on itv or a new show they may have four ad breaks(one after 5 mins, one at 20 mins one at 30mins and one at about 45 mins and they would have to miss out at least two songs and not forgetting the extra time for increased promotional features.

The original show was 48 minutes long most tv shows today especially those from America like Lost and CSI are only 40 minutes long due to the adverts.

I've just been in touch with the manager of the vault channel and she has told me that she wont be removing the dog on repeats, I was told this was allowed under the old management but it wont be happening from now on.
She also does not seem to know which episode is being shown or whether or not its in the correct order.
Its such a shame the chart show couldnt be shown in its original form again.

Does anyone else get a few minor problems with their recordings from The Vault? Several of my ''Original Chart Show''episodes sometime tend to jump & cut-out for a second or two sometimes and in one episode last week, during ''Candy Girl'' by Baby Bird, the screen went all funny, like when the tracking was wrong on VHS etc! It can't be my Sky+ box, as all my other recordings from other channels are fine, so I wonder why I seem to get these problems with ''Original Chart Show''? Is it anything to do with the original master tapes or something?...

My guess would be, that although Twix sponsored the shows then, it was only for that showing, is it fair that they get free sponsorship a decade or so on? Plus there are rights issues, even from the original sponsors themselves, may not want to be associated with a music show that is quite old, demographics and all that. If you paid for something to be associated with your company over 10 years ago, and they just decided to use it again, you may not be at all impressed, and also they may not want to sponsor something they have done once already.

The new Chart Show didn't do very well because it was badly done and on a minority channel. While there isn't a need for music videos on the main channels, a new chart show would be relatively cheap to make and has got to be better than the rubbish that is on ITV on Saturday mornings now. Also because music videos are cheap I have seen CH4 putting hour long blocks of music videos from 4Music recently and they also have 4Music's Top 20 on CH4 in the early hours of Thursday.
