Classic Chart Show Showing On The Vault 356

Exactally same email I got. Presumably he wrote up a standard one to send out to everyone (makes more sense than writing a new one each time).

Obviously though, the only reason it's a double bill is because they're showing the episode they were meant to last week. But I do agree, it would be nice to have more than one episode a week, but I'm happy as it is anyway.

Although this has nothing to do with the chart show I saw a programme last night on channel 4 with David Walliams & Matt Lucas and it had Network 7. I was wondering if network 7 on this forum was anything to do with this.

And wasn't it terrible! I am a lover of 80s music, but I also like much of the current stuff in the charts, but I am astonished as to how little of the music from around 1992 has actually held up over time.

I had to bail out before the end (telephone!) but dance music from that era was heavily acid-house influenced and painfully repetitive. I now realise why the Shamen were so popular at the time - best of a bad bunch. Also got to see how ridiculously over-rated some of the rock and indie acts from that time were as well.

Looks like June 29th 1996 today.

Still intrigues about the 1986 & 1989 things though, and I hope we get to see episodes from these years (and all the others) eventually.

It's a repeat of one they showed earlier in the week- they showed this one on Monday. Presumably they're sticking the odd repeat in amongst the new episodes as well- the episode on Wednesday was a repeat of the one from the previous Friday as well.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the last episode of the Chart Show. Hmmmm maybe celebrate the anniversary with a Pepe Jean, a Twix chocolate and the dreadful Tizer drink (Believe me, it tastes awful) !!!!!!!!

It's still down for next Saturday on SkyGuide to be followed by a Boyband 88-08 Special. So i think it's just this week to sort out the problems.

I've found what may be the answer this too, in another usenet thread archived at Google Groups:

"As for the chart show The verve or there managers will not let the chart show play there videos unless they are shown in full and with no graphics over the top. I read in the NME (www.nme.com) this came about because thet chart show ran a story about Richard Ashcroft being seen at a spiritualized gig when he was supposed to being play a
Verve gig which he had cancelled at the last minute due to his sickness"

Lol if i would have dreamed back in the 90's that one day I would be able to put them onto a machine that anyone in the world could access then i would gladly have had hundreds of video tapes in a cup board not just 40.

It annoys me as much as anyone else when I go through them and Ive edited a song out I now like for example Supergrass "Lenny" but as you say Deeraz it's something programmes like these will probably never get shown again.

What were everybody's favourite opening titles and them tune?

My favourite titles and i don't know why were the Pepe Jeans ones for some reason i like the Pepe rocket (incidentally where does the Pepe rocket go when the other ten rockets head for the chart show/top ten it takes a quick right turn and loses them)

My favourite theme was the Twix Town one it was loud and got you in the mood for the show unlike the 1996 no theme titles.
