Classic Chart Show Showing On The Vault 356

I'm glad someone else dated this episode. I couldn't be bothered to watch the whole thing- I felt like shit and ended up going back to sleep until 4PM (god knows why I felt like that this morning). I'll keep an eye for the midnight & thursday repeats- hopefully at least one of these is without the DOGs.

I did wonder why it was "daily". Then again it's still not listed next week. We'll have to wait and see if it appears.

Then again, knowing Channel 4's fortnight revival in 2003, I wouldn't be surprised if this revival ran oddly.

Just looked at some episodes someone sent me a few months back, and I've actually got the episode that followed this one (and the one that preceded the 11th May 1991 edition), or at least most of it, as it cuts off before the credits) and the 4/5/91 is missing the first few minutes).

And, as I said, if anyone recorded this weeks episode on Saturday, please PM me if you're willing to send me a copy. I'm annoyed to be mising one of the Vault episodes.

One thing though- I know Matt reads this thread, and also several of us have contacted him in the past, I'd like to think if this week's was the final edition, he'd have let us know one way or another.

Last night I went through an old tape that's got a recording on ITV Nightscreen on it (from back in the days it was made up of teletext pages) and one of the things on it was the Chart Show Extra pages. I found it funny when the one I have on video has the charts from the 2/5/98 edition that was shown on The Vault a few weeks back. Obviously just a co-incidence, but it amused me.

I have to say I agree with you there. Most stuff in the charts these days is total rubbish to be honest. And I hope this isn't down to me getting older- I'm only 20. I don't want to be getting to be a grumpy old sod yet!

If they've only DOGged one repeat, it might be a mistake. It's the wonders of automation- you can think you've programmed it right, but it still goes wrong. I remember the DOG popping up a couple of times on The Vault's repeats last year, almost certainly unintentionally.

The 28th is a Friday and it's got the good ol' information bar as "We bring back the best show on your screen etc"

aka.

YEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It's worth pointing out that the repeat today is on at 11PM instead of midnight due to Scuzz "taking over" from midnight. Not sure if the Scuzz thing is regular or just for this week- the trailer doesn't make it clear.

it was from May 1991, perhaps from May 11, 1991. I didn't take that much notice when it was on due to a slight case of a hangover! I do remember seeing the #1 was Cher at the top for her third week and in the BBC chart the following day she was at #1 for the third week. The official top 10 from the next day, the Sunday, was:

01 01 The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) Cher
02 02 Last Train To Trancentral KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution
03 NE Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee) Crystal Waters
04 03 Sailing On The Seven Seas Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
05 07 Touch Me (All Night Long) Cathy Dennis
06 15 Promise Me Beverley Craven
07 04 Senza Una Donna (Without A Woman) Zucchero Featuring Paul Young
08 10 There's No Other Way Blur
09 08 Get The Message Electronic
10 NE Tainted Love Soft Cell Featuring Marc Almond

does that tie up with what they played?

I think I know which seller you're talking about. There are actually 2 sellers, who are selling the same episodes (30/9/88, 30/6/90, 15/9/90, 22/2/92). I'm not too sure which seller is offering the cheapest, but I guess one of them bought episodes from the other person and is flogging it, as they say.

That's the story behind it that I heard as well. Quick question I didn't know they back airing again until this monday when I started tuning in. So have they already aired the first ever rock chart where they 'fast forward' every video yet? as my archive of specialist charts has the first few seconds of that one missing.

Sad to say but i only have a couple of Top Ten singles charts :(

I'm having a certain case of deju vu as the Chart Show has once more disappeared from SkyGuide for Saturday and Sunday to be replaced this time with Hunkz and Honeyz. It still down for Wednesday at 5pm. But for how long?

i got some new episodes from 1987 and 1988 to watch so i am happy, they are brilliant

just wish they would come back on the vault again

maybe for 6 months of the year even

maybe we should all email the guy at the channel and ask him?

I'm not sure if it's the same seller, razdan, as the four that I've been offered include an episode from December 1995.

Out of curiousity, do you know how much they offered them for?
