Classic Chart Show Showing On The Vault 356

The thing with Channel 4 is that it was only intended to last a fortnight- it was a filler programme while RI:SE was taking a 2-week break.

4 May 1991 was rare as it was shown in the afternoon because of the Gulf War Remembrance Service and it was very rare for the Chart Show to go out of its usual timeslot between 11am and 1pm.

There was something yesterday morning featuring excerpts from a Robbie Williams interview from 1996 but they had snippets of his videos from 1996-2002 (when the programme was first transmitted)

I can also confirm 100% yesterdays was 24/8/1991.

Something I really want to point out is this which apepared straight after the end of the second part. While it was obviously shown in error, it's unlikely this will have been made and loaded onto the system unless they were planning on showing an episode from 1986. Maybe they've had at least a handful of tapes transferred, or some have been transferred in the past for different reasons (the Robert Palmer footage & graphics montage from the final episodes is a possibility). It's intriguing anyway.

I a can esure you that I haven't got the faintist idea who this SimSam guy is. I only wanted to know that date of this weeks episode because I watched the episode and throughly enjoyed. I loved the song by the KLF - Last Train To Transcentral who was no.1 in the dance chart:). Also JamesTV 2001 have found anything else about the 1995 episodes.

Let's also hope they remove the annoying "TEXT IN NOW TO MEET XXXXXXX IN NEW YORK!!!!" DOG during the repeats (why they need this on-screen permantly is beyond me, they run promotions before every ad break, and sometimes between songs- watch for 10 minutes, you'll see it at least once).

Must be related then, same charming reparte, and appaling grammar. Perhaps now we can look forward to two thrilling Chart Show tribute websites.

I managed to watch the new chart show on friday lunchtime what a mess:

New releases have a play option..why? the fast forward doesn't work it doesn't gel into next video the airplay chart was virtually the same as the singles chart no indication of whether the songs were going up, down or non-movers.

The whole show didn't feel separate to the rest of chart show tv it just felt wrong no number one icon and no info boxes basically the just copied the smash hits channels instead of developing their own style very very disappointing.

I understand that they are now on their own and do not have the financial investment Yorkshire TV and the itv network put in in the 1990's and the graphics would have to be made for less but the whole show and the channel looked cheap, cheap, cheap.

Digiguide's also listing it for Saturday 29th at 15:00 and Sunday 30th at 11:00 and 08:00 for every day the following week! Though I wouldn't be suprised to find it's only one or two episodes repeated throughout the week rather than a different one each day.

Which is probably better, as I don't think I'd be able to keep up with 7 episodes every week!

The date is definitely 1 August, as the information bar on Paul Weller's song tells you he plays at London's Victoria Park the following Saturday, and a quick look round t'net, shows that was on 8 August.

I have recently emailed Matt at the vault and he says he is planning to show the following episodes:
31/03/2007 1998 episode 27

07/04/2007 1996 episode 21
