Classic albums any true music fan should own or at least listen to

two very good songs, but album wise, you cannot better the debut.

WHEN I HEAR MY NAME (DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH) I WANNA DISAPPEAR )DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH)

If we're just going to go with established 'classics' we may as well just skip all this altogether and sit around discussing the merits of this.

The biggest problem with that list is its totally obvious.

I think there's basically nowhere left for this argument to go. I just can't see attaching the word classic to something new. It goes against definition and connotation. You don't feel that way because of the immediate impact some albums have. Even though I disagree, I think both are fair points. So, maybe some more people will weigh in on this and we can reach some kind of consensus.

Since I've become knowledgeable about the great world of music I haven't really encountered any albums that have had as great an initial impact as Nevermind, but I will admit that it occasionally does happen. Still, I think this happens very rarely and it's probably wise to exercise caution before declaring any album a "classic."

I think that either KISS Alive or ALIVE II REALLY should be mentioned. I understand I might take some flak on this.. you can say what ya want.. yeah they had odd make up- yeah the songs were almost all about sex and partying. No- they didn't show any vocal prowess or technical wizardry with their instruments. Bottom line- you don't go to KISS concerts for any of those reasons. Also- remeraber- these are the guys that opened the flood gates for so much after them.. think of how many other banRAB or artists that would not be around today if they had not first been exposed to KISS.
