Classic albums any true music fan should own or at least listen to

I'd also like to nominate The Doors - S/T, Rage against the machine - S/T, The White Stripes - Elephant, The Rapture - Echoes, (do we have) Gang of Four - Entertainment, Stone Temple Pilots - Core, Queens of the Stone age - Songs for the deaf (I think I many have already mentioned them).

If nobody objects I shall add them .

I'm gonna comprise a list later on, till then, anyone can disagree with a particular choice, explain why the mentioned album is actually an overrated piece of garbage and the likes.

@Strummer: Hellz yeah, bought my first copy in London.:yeah:

The first album is from 2005, this thread is intended to educate music lovers about classics, which is why there's not a lot of albums from 2000 and upwarRAB. The second is as you say yourself, a "forgotten folkie", that somehow takes away it's "must" listen quality.

That said, if someone backs your choices, I'll be more than happy to include them.

Television - Marquee Moon

Released in 1977 as punk was beginning its dominance, Tom Verlaine introduced a more sensitive, elliptical approach coupled with a collective musical ability that stood out from the scene. Simultaneously pioneering the punk (to which it was seen as the first album) and new wave movements that were to follow the initial punk explosion, Marquee Moon was somewhat of an anomaly when released, never really garnering much initial success
