Cineworld Unlimited Card

You're not far away from me Bluzu, whatever i want to see thats not in Gloucester i come over to Cheltenham to see. Eden Lake next week will be one.
Hopefully from next year i wont have to bother as much as Cineworld Gloucester is being extended to 10 screens.

You sign a contract stating that you will remain signed up for a year, if you cancel the direct debit you will be billed for the remaining amount.

Ive had a Cineworld Unlimited card for over 5 years now and its well worth the money. I tend to see around 4 or 5 films a month and sometimes films like The Dark Knight more than once. I dont understand why more people dont have one especially with the cost of the cinema ticket at the moment!

I'm with you on that.

I can't believe it took me so long to get one.

I've mentioned it in other threaRAB, but I've seen 35 films in just over 6 months and, 'Gone Baby Gone', 'Wall-E' and 'The Dark Knight' twice!

Going to look at the timetable now, to see what's on tomorrow ;)

They don't bother enforcing it though. Well they never with me anyway.

I cancelled my DD midway through contract around February, didn't give them any notice or a reason or anything.

I got two letters in the form of email attachments telling me I was behind on payment.

After that I never heard from them again and this was around March.

I don't think they can be bothered chasing people up, probably not worth the expense.

Yeah, if you go to the cinema often it's definitely worth it. If you only go every other month then obviously it's not for you.

But if you are a regular cinema-goer than it is a definite money-saver. It's not a con. The only thing is, I've ended up watching quite a high proportion of junk films because I have it, lol.

We got Sky movies for a couple of Christmasses and although they do show the good films, I found them few and far between, just seemed hard to find any quality in between the old, hallmark style repeats. :D

Personally I'd rather go to the cinema and see as many films as I can, how they were intended to be seen, that way if the film is crap, I'll only see it once. Not 6-7 times in one week.

--Having said that I haven't subscribed to Sky Movies in a few years, so it might have improved a little :p

Im on 52 for the year so far!
As somebody else posted, with an unlimited card you can go and watch any old crap and not worry about it costing you anything.

Yeah, you know I don't need to eat or drink in the cinema that much to go and lose the ability to see a film :D

Saying that though, on the many times I've been I've seen people with Starbucks and Costa coffees and loaRAB of sweets not sold at Cineworld and I never see anyone told about it??!?!

I even once saw a family on the front row all get out a MacDonalRAB each, it changed the room smell from that nice Popcorn smell to 'Eau de Big Mac' and still nothing was said when the usher popped his head around the door.

I like badcompany3004's idea with the Popcorn on the all dayer though, makes it good value for money.:) I wonder if Cineworld would allow you to bring the left over Pic'n'Mix you bought for the film a couple of days earlier into a different days film???

Hey nice one, I suppose we are quite lucky really as we have two CineworlRAB reasonably close together, I'm suprised Eden Lake is not on at Gloucester though, I always thought that was quite big, it's been a while since I've been there though, (especially with the current building work going on around it) I think it was a UGC last time I went, plus I was probably just comparing it too the very small Odeon we had at the time. :D

We have actually got Eden Lake, which surprised me, but only one showing at around 9.
Out of all the films this year i've seen nearly half are at Cheltenham, we hardly ever get the more niche films in Gloucester, not an intellectual enough crowd i think! Something like Disaster Movie this week will be really popular but if they showed something that makes you think nobody seems to go.
Its being extended because of all the building work going on around it, loaRAB of things being built.

Bloody hell, that was a packed afternoon! ;)

I disagree with the other poster above about there not being much value now. At the end of the day, you only have to go to two films per month to make it worthwhile - and there's usually that, be they big blockbusters or smaller but no less watchable films.

I actually gave up my Unlimited card a couple of years ago when I thought Sky Movies would be more cost effective, but it just wasn't the same. I missed the buzz of going to the cinema, and seeing films straight away. On top of my Sky Movies sub I was paying probably

Yeah, but after you've seen two films that month it DOESN'T cost you anything to see however many you want.

Nice one, I've got to see more, just a bit of a slow month because I think other films are scared of going up against Batman.

The profit made on ticket admissions is next to nothing for Cinemas, thats why the retail section of the business is so important.

This is why every so often we can afford to screen free advanced previews (through seefilmfirst.com for instance) and the money made on at the Retail section would be more than the money made on whatever film would have been playing on a random Tuesday night. Of course this is not always the case.

The food policy thing is daft, Odeon have no policy, you can bring whatever you want in unless its going to smell in the screen (fish and chips). I think Cineworld and Showcase do have food policies and inforce them, depending on staff descretion at the time.

Disaster Movie has been a total flop ranked no1 in IMDB worst films of all time. I don't know why they keep on making these kind of films!

I've managed to utilise my Unlimited card 67 times in 2008 so far.

The down side is, as someone mentioned, I've seen a lot of truely terrible films along with all the blockbusters as we end up watching almost every film released :p
