The cinema is expensive and there are even more expensive options coming now. But its still possible to go to the cinema for a reasonable amount of money. First of all get an Orange sim card or two. How long have Orange Wednesdays been going now and still a lot of people don't use it. Second if you don't think the super expensive seats are worth the extra money, don't pay for them, why pay for an expensive luxury extra and then complain its expensive? Get a standard seat, most of them (especially in the IMAX) seem to be more then comfortable enough.

I can confirm that Orange Wednesdays is compatible with the Cineworld Unlimited card. So, if you are a cardholder, you can take a friend along on a wednesday for the grand sum of 35p extra against your existing subscription - can't really complain about that.
Another thought - in France, both the ticket price and the refreshments are more expensive than here. 4 Euros for an Ice Cream, anyone?
