If you know anything about Hitchens this is a bomb shell.

No, Liberals say they're a bunch of toothless, mouthbreathing retards.

Of course, Libs claim the intellectual high ground quite often...while proving otherwise by word and deed.

This thread seems to be missing the point.

The military, like any other institution, has people from a range of intelligence. There are some very smart people in the military, and there are some morons. Just like anything else.

Cool clip. I always enjoy Hitchens being interviewed.

That being said, I completely disagree with his politics. Just like his other fellow previous Marxists from the 60s, he's now a necon.

A large amount of personal will experience the possibility of violence that could result in death. Intelligent people do not want to die.

again, you can't prove that intelligent people have a higher sense of self preservation than others. you're also completely ignoring the reasons why people of all levels of intelligence join the military in the first place. your argument is severely flawed.

There are intelligent people in the military.
The overall military is probably pretty reflective of society.

The most intelligent people work for private companies within the U.S. Many of those companies are contracted by the military though.

I would be very surprised if the two were not correlated.

The existence of statistical outliers does not qualify as a counterargument to a point made using said statistics.
