Christians" a little more R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for other cultures, and a little

less hellfire ok? More Arethra Franklin and less "you will roast for being non-Christian heathens!".

Case in point: Is it so wrong that Japanese follow their 1000+ year old Eastern/Buddhist traditions? Everything that makes Japan, Japan is based on a non-Christian culture. Why should they trample on the graves of their enlightened ancestors by throwing away their history to become Christian? It's shameful to think they should, and if they don't then they'll roast. Its bigotry, it's racist, it's presumptive, it's coercive AND it's disrespectful to dignity and humanitarianism.

Your thoughts?

Well, personally, I've seen a lot more disrespect coming from the non-Christians towards me than anything else. I don't go around pointing fingers and condemning people to hell; it's only when someone asks me things like "what happens to non believers?' that I state what my belief is, it being that you will go to hell.

Christians should follow the example of St. Patrick. He presented the message of Christianity in a way that fit in with the Irish culture, instead of trying to force Roman culture and practices onto them. He got a lot of hell from the other bishops because of it.

I agree with the "a little less hellfire" part. If I were God, I would want people to love me and believe in me for who I was, and not because they were scared of burning in hell.

My thoughts: I don't really care what other people believe so why don't you R.E.S.P.E.C.T. the fact that I am a Christian and not all Christians talk down to others for their beliefs.

Sorry that frog don't hop.

First I could say "sing to yourself" as Christians are singled out daily. How about a little for us?

Here is the scoop. Yes it is wrong to follow any other faith or belief. Yes it is presumptive IF it was an opinion and not a fact. The only reason you can say it is the latter is because the final day has yet to arrive to prove the fact. It is not shameful that we care and are given a mandate to reach the lost. It is not bigotry because it applies to all and should be offered to all. It is not racist because it again applies to all and is open to all. It has not been coercive for more than a hundred years. If you feel coerced move on it is a free country. True many claiming Christ can be disrespectful, but the truth hurts and many cannot stand hearing the truth and are offending when the light is shined on their dark ways. Humanitarianism is bunk.

I have been to many different cultures and was very respectful. I did not swing my Bible around. I did help out and promoted my Church in a Bible School setting. If I spoke to a non believer I shared my beliefs and why I believed them. Unless directly asked I left them to work out their thoughts.
