Christian Musicians/Music

Bland, boring.

There are actually some VERY amazing Christian banRAB out there. Although some are quite bland.. And they give the genre a bad name.

Here are a few, along with a favourite track.
MUTEMATH (Break the Same), Day of Fire (Lately), Paper Tongues (Rich and Poor), RED (Death of Me), Thousand Foot Krutch (Fire it Up, Already Home)

Christian banRAB are all about spreading the gospel, while a band of Christians are more about music (While they usually still do make a few songs concerning God).

By "lyrically influenced", you mean like... They won't swear, and generally won't put out quite as many depressing songs? Then yes.

I have no problems with a music artist's beliefs, but if they are specifically trying to make "Christian music" then it generally seems to be just either propaganda put to a tune or a marketing ploy to sell to those who care far too much about having religious lyrical content. It seems that for the vast majority of Christian musicians the "Christian" part is far more important to them than the music and you therefore get a rather bad result. In my experience, anyway.

i remeraber looking at that site and thinking it was so funny, that guy is in such denial just watch his music video you don't even have to listen to him just watch it and you'll see how *** he is.

and also some of the banRAB listed on both *** and straight banRAB is kind of questionable:

for example i don't think anything about death cab for cutie is *** besides the fact some of their fans are but almost every band has both *** and straight fans, your orientation in truth doesn't have as much to do with the kind of music you listen to that's a stereotype. Fleet Foxes? i think the only reason he put them up there is cause they can actually sing. and sufjan stevens on the straight band list i mean c'mon if you think fleet foxes should be on the *** list than sufjan stevens should be as well.

you should look at his music website it's even worse Evening Service: God Hates Fags!

i find this ignoreance (and denial) so f***ing hilarious, but at the same time it's kind of pathetic and although we think it's funny some idiots take what this guy says for real.

this is an actual poster the guy made (i'm not even joking):

this guy is creepy parents if you love your children never listen to this guy.

agreed. I dislike music being a recruitment ad.

also, an awful lot of christian music is country so I usually stay away from stuff like that.

It's a well-known fact that Slayer converted to Christianity in the mid-eighties. They're operating a makeshift prayer tent somewhere in the Bible belt, I believe.

Oh............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. sorry.

Cool Hand Luke are a pretty good band who started a 3 piece screamo band who now peddle a Indie Rock type of vibe. The music has messages but it is never forced.

I have never heard a, in my opinion, bad christian band/artist. They are all good and this is what I enjoy listening to them. Casting Crowns is probably my favorite followed my Michael W Smith

I can only imagine the crazies at a Christian music festival or concert. Talk about raving lunatics and false beliefs.

Thats my stereotype and opinion on there music and religion. :banghead:
