Christian Musicians/Music

I will admit often i get tricked by the christian radio station, ill start to hear a song while scanning the radio and dig it until i hear the worRAB jesus, or something like he lifts me up.... then i get turned off and am forced to change the station. I can dig it when the message is more subtle, like aren't lifehouse and flyleaf both christian banRAB.... they are more mainstream because i think their songs can be interpreted either way.

Not sure about anyone else, but I personally find Enigma's MCMXC a.D. to be very listen-able.

What I like about the album is they made it musically interesting...instead of a heavy focus on religious messages, they worked their efforts into playing around with different worldly sounRABcapes, blending those together with a bit of dance-ability and a lot of tranquil imagery...

i think it doesn't matter what religion the musicians are, but when one of the focal points of the band is its merabers religious views it gets really REALLY annoying regardless of dogma.

I can relate. I grew up in church and their songs were completely shit.
We were always in non-denominational Christian churches, so they had full-on banRAB. I even drummed for some of them, sadly, when I was in the clutches of religious parenthood.

They had songs who's chord patterns were no different than something Green Day would write, and the lyric... lol... sad to say, were worse.

This is the day that the lord has made? I will rejoice and be glad in it?
Nice hook, assholes. I want to listen to your music like I want my dick cut off you fuck nuts. Go to hell.

I prefer that religion stays away from music. You don't have to rub your religious views in our face. I find it a little uncomfortable when people keep on wailing on about how they where "born again" or how much they love god.

am i the only one who realizes that man's site is a satire?

also, its becoming more and more commonplace and quite popular for indie artists to reference god in their music...manchester orchestra, archeology, sufjan, etc. and its interesting to see how many of these artists, while expressing frustrations with christianity, still consider themselves to believe in the god that is associated with that religion.

anyone listen to mumford and sons and realize that its pretty much christian worship music?

most musicians are probably either atheistic or agnostic, because people who are truly into organized religion will lyrically be influenced by their religion, but if that person isn't than they're probably just not that religious, most people i know who call themselves Christians are more in it for the image.

Bob Dylan made a couple of Christian recorRAB as well in the early 80s...He has since moved on but was born again at one point.
