Chiro vs. PT

I have just completed 3 weeks of physical therapy and am thinking of waiting a while to see if I need more...at which point I am thinking of seeing a chiro who does traction. The PT seems to have helped, but maybe it is because I am learning to sleep on my side with a small pillow between my knees. I have been doing exercises on my own and using a stationary bike at home. Any thoughts?

My MRI results are as follows:
Lower lurabar degenerative changes most pronounced at L4-5 with midline disc herniation, severe facet arthropathy and Grade 1 antherolisthesis resulting in severe spinal stenosis and bilateral forminal narrowing.

Personally, with the results you are indicating, I would not get treatment with a chiropractor. With spinal stenosis - physical therapy can lessen the symptoms. But I wouldn't want "adjustments" done to an area of the spine where there are clearly issues.

That is very possible. You'd want to talk with the Chiro first to set up your expectations for the treatment plan. And, I always say that any good Chiro will want to review your xrays, MRI, CT etc - to be sure they are treating within what they can handle. I did see a Chiro for my neck problems and the minute he saw my MRI he said "I can no longer treat you, you should solely be treating with a Neurosurgeon or Orthopedic Spine Surgeon based on what this report and films show". That was a good Chiro!

SpineAZ good idea about the x-ray and MRI. I have not decided on the chiro yet...just getting ideas. Thanks.
