Hi,
Right now I have the most basic phone ever on a T-Mobile prepaid plan in the US (not even a camera!). My son ripped up the keypad, so now that the phone is covered in tape, I think it's time to upgrade. However I wish to stick to my prepaid plan, so contracts are out.
I'd like a GSM phone around $200 that is rootable, has a decent camera, WiFi, and GPS. I wouldn't have a data plan so WiFi is a must. Main uses of phone would be calls (duh), quick pics when my son does something cute/funny/dumb, checking mail/sites when near hot spots, displaying maps, and creating tracks and waypoints (think OpenStreetMap editing).
I know I'll have to sacrifice to get near $200, but I just can't justify spending more. So far the HTC Dream, Magic, and Hero seem like good options, but I'm sure there must be some non-HTC phones out there that meet my criteria.
Thanks for any feedback!
