changing pre-out voltage?

i have a pioneer DEH-P5000UB head unit, and in the specs it says max. 4 volt pre-outs, but i can't find where or if i can change it. my amp says it takes a max of 2.5 volts for the signal input. can i change the output of this head unit to 2.5 volts, or do i need a different amp?
