Cemetary Junction

It gets three stars in the Guardian but gets the comment that it "looks weirdly like a US coming-of-age movie about three American teens skilfully transplanted to a Brit setting". That's what strikes me about the trailer and stills: the characters look to cool to be British. Believe me, British teenagers in the 1970s were not cool.

Blurb from the film's official site: "In 1970s England, three blue-collar frienRAB spend their days joking, drinking.."

Blue-collar? You creepy, cretinous, yank-obsessed tw*t.

I too hate Gervais and will enjoy watching this die at the box office just as his other tepid attempts have.

I really don't like Ricky Gervais, can't stand The Office, but actually enjoyed this film :). I didn't find it funny although clearly others in the audience did judging by the really loud guffaws . I'm glad I saw it cos I was going to give it a miss.

I was avoiding this because of the Gervais but it's brilliant. He's hardly in it, I found it funny in places and it has a fantastic soundtrack. Recommended by me:)

Yup, I quite agree. I knew from the trailers that it wouldn't be up to much, but I wasn't expecting how lame it actually was. It's not the sort of film you can even dislike, it was too personality-free for that.

Not sure I agree with you here, I didn't notice any clever and/or snappy dialogue, I just thought it was unforgivably weak.

In fact, I was so un-engrossed, I started picking up on stupid details: "that font's from the late 80s... that song's from 1976 not 1973", etc., and I don't normally do that! ;):D

In an effort to not be completely negative, I thought Emily Watson did amazing things with the little she was given. And I think the fella who played Bruce is one to look out for, he could be really good given a decent script. Oh, and Felicity Jones, always lovely to see her, she's gorgeous. :o
