Cartoons youd most like to see made into a movie

What cartoon series would you most like to see made into a big-screen blockbuster?

For me, i'd love to see Sonic the Hedgehog (the videogame contunity, not SatAM or AoSTH or Sonic X) make the jump to the
big-screen. When you think about it, Sonic has all the things nessecary for a 'big summer movie'

First off, the title character has 'attitude' and while on SatAM and in the games, his 'attitude' can be a bit annoying, put the character in the hands of a talented Hollywood writer and you can really have him be a sarcastic wise-ass that will keep audiences laughing.

Next, the franchise has always been about speed. (The main character's name IS Sonic) Big-summer blockbusters always have thrilling 'chase' sequences. I imagine the movie could start with Sonic running around his homeland, completely carefree, with some really beautiful CG work. Later on in the film, however, he can make it to Station Square, (or some fictional city made up for the movie, I dont care) and be outrunning Police, who all think he's an experiment by Robotnik or something. and of course, have scenes where hes dodging robots or chasing after Robotnik.

Let's not forget a great villain. Every movie needs an iconic villain. Spider-Man has Doc Ock. Batman, The Joker. and Sonic has one of the most well-known villains around: Dr Robotnik. An eccentric, goofy fat man who has an entire army of robots, vehicles,
labortories and technology at his disposal. If they can strike a good balance of both weird and evil, they can make one the most interesting villains seen in an animated film.

Lastly, the series has always had robots. Small robots. Giant robots. Evil hedgehog robots. Take a look at how well Transformers, a movie all about robots did. Throw in a bunch of robots, explosions, and you got everything nessecary for a big movie. not to mention, the title character is a well-established household name.

Sure, the games have had their problems in recent years, but Sonic is so well engrained in pop-cuture and has so much potential for a film series that there simply is no reason he hasn't starred in a motion picture.

(and dont mention the OVA. That didn't really count. It was just a two-part TV special that was called a 'movie' for the english dub)

There's probably more cartoons I think have potential for movies, but ill list those later.

Upon watching a few episodes of it online, "C.O.P.S." could be a cool movie if done right. It was like GI Joe only with crimefighting instead of military so it would be easier to view in other parts of the world. I say Wesley Snipes could be Bulletproof.

Tagline: "It's Crimefighting Time..."

I wouldn't mind seeing a Darkwing Duck movie (to conclude the tv show) or a Tailspin movie (likewise) someday.

Highly unrealistic at this point, but I can dream...

live action
garglyoles
jonny quest

space ghost
heraloids

I want a Speed Racer 2. I fell in love with the first, and it deserves more.

I also think a live action Gargoyles would be pretty sweet...I'd imagine it'd be an adaptation of Awakening, though.

With Speed Racer already released and an Astro Boy movie already in production, it should be obvious which 60's anime should be reborn on the big screen:

GIGANTOR!

Think about it. A twelve year old who controls a giant robot that smashes the crap out of giant criminal robots not with guns, lazers, or any weapons; just his bare metal knuckles. To me, that just screams blockbuster.

My guesses for live action/CGI cartoon movies:
* Sonic the Hedgehog Saturday AM
* Animaniacs
* The Jetsons
* Jonny Quest
* The Archies
* Pokemon
* Marine Boy
* Charlie Brown and Snoopy/Peanuts

In before this thread gets locked due to everyone ignoring the list thread rule.

There's nothing I really want to see made as a movie right now, but when I was much younger I would have killed for a good Darkwing Duck movie done the same as the 1990 Ducktales flick.

A Johnny Quest movie could actually be interesting if you get the right cast, and play it straight and not try to make it too 'epic' and keep it nice and moody and a little mysterious and dark.

The only problem of course being that it's main villain, and it's most memorable villain at that, is a dated stereotype of 40 years ago.

I don't know, I think they could pull off an original Dr. Xin.

Anyway, if the rumors were true from months back, a Johnny Quest movie is on the way.

Well, G.I. Joe is already on its way, so I'd next love to see a M.A.S.K. and Bionic Six movie. Several years ago, I would have picked Stephen Collins as Jack Bennett. Kelly Preston would make a good Helen Collins, too.

And The Real Ghostbusters. Oh, wait..... :p

That would be awesome, especially Snipes as Bulletproof.

I know Jhonen hated working on Zim, and the thought of a continuation of the series is laughable, but speaking purely in hypothetical terms,
a live-action Zim directed by Jhonen himself, Guirlemo Del Toro, Tim Burton or the guys behind Sin City/300 could be visually stunning and a great disturbing flick.

Some of the character designs in the show are a bit 'out there' so I think instead of trying to copy the series to a T, they should create their own, original take on the characters for the movie. Give them slight resemblances to the characters, but don't go out of their way to give Dib a giant deformed head, which would just be irritating to watch, and make Dib look like he has some sort of hideous birth-defect.

I would, however, like to see a live-action version of Zim's house copied heavily from the show, and GIR's doggy outfit too, i think it would give the film, a twisted design and help add to the tone of the movie.

The movie, instead of being a origin, like so many others, should instead start with a brief 'recap' of the show, telling how Zim got to Earth, and have an original storyline. Something which intertiwnes Dib's paranormal investigating with Zim's plan for world conquest. (Maybe Dib finds a legendary paranormal object which gives its owner supreme power or something, and Zim tries to get his hands on it, madness insues, creatures/monsters invade the earth, giant alien spaceships, piggies, Professor Membrane making toast.

Eh. It's a thought.

I've always thought that Warner Bros. should make live-action features of Jana of the Jungle and possibly The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.

An animated Darkwing Duck movie would be awesome if done right. Of course, I can't help but shake this fear that, if we ever do see a Darkwing Duck movie, it's going to be god awful live-action flick with a CGI Darkwing Duck abomination thrown in.

And Dirk Benedict would make a great Berserko. Oh, and if they can make a film out of The Flintstones, why not one of The Jetsons? Danny Devito would make a FANTASTIC Cosmo Spacely!!

What about Justice League being made into a live-action movie, primarily with Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Aquaman as the movie's leads. I know I'm gettting a little retro thinking about the long-running Superfriends, but think about a possible feature film with the JLA.
