I was just wondering this. Have there ever been cartoons that it seemed everyone around you, be it on the internet or people you know in real life, seemed to hate but there was something about the show that you loved?
For me, it would be Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. Don't get me wrong, the show was far from brilliant. It had a ton of problems, that's for sure. The backgrounds were lackluster, every character (save for Ami, Yumi, Kaz, and the Japan-only seen Julie) were poorly designed and half-assed, and the writing left much to be desired.
Despite all that and, I have no idea why this is, there was something about the show that I just enjoyed. Maybe it was the cute main characters or the quirky animation. I really can't explain it, but something about Hi Hi kept me entertained.
So what about you? Any shows that everyone you know seemed to hate but you, whatever the reason may be, couldn't help but enjoy? Even if you knew deep down inside that the show was pretty lame?
