Cartoon Series They Should Have Made (but didn't)

My guess is because the movie sucked and was a box office failure.

Seriously dude, not every single TV show, movie, actor and character needs to be turned into an animated series.

As much as I liked Bebe's Kid's, a t.v. show simply wouldn't work for the sole fact that the guy who created them, Robin Harris, passed away at some point during the film's production. The film was originally supposed to be live action with Harris actually starring, but he passed away, so the studio decided to make the film animated and have someone voice the lead character. I think had Haris lived, the film, wether live action or animated, would have greater. But without Harris's involvement, a t.v. show wouldn't feel right.

As for other shows that should have/could have been, I've been thinking that if Saturday Mornings were still huge with kids, and Kid's WB and the other networks were still in the game with new (and I mean NEW, not repeats of cable shows) series, here's some shows we could have had:

Supernatural The Animated Series: Sure, the adventures would have to lighter to fit the FCC regulations, but the adventures of young Sam and Dean Winchester while they were teenagers (or around the age they were in the S4 ep After School Special) would have ruled.

Young Bruce Wayne Adventures: This was on the table before Smallville was before I recall, but for whatever reason it never got off the ground. But in animated form, young Bruce traveling the world, learning how to become a detective and becoming a martial arts master could have worked.

Heroes: If NBC were still in the Saturday Morning Animation game, we'd have gotten an animated, lighter adaption for Saturday Mornings, guaranteed.

Nacho Libre: Jack Black's comedy from a few years ago would have fit in right on Fox Kid's Saturday Morning lineup.

This always boggled my mind. Following the globetrotting adventures of Bruce Wayne as he gained the skills he would ultimately employ as the Batman just IS a better idea for a show than Smallville. There's so much there to play around with, and all of it could have been done without completely pissing on the mythology of the character the way Smallville did - does. Is it still on?

I would like to see a "Josie and the Pussycats" cartoon as re-imagined like the Shorties back then. I'm surprised at how it still stands up after a few years off CN. (I not too long ago had a free week of Boomerang, and finally saw it again.) It has a modern look, so why not go for a whole series?

One cartoon series I say, is that of a Cosby Kids cartoon. I would have figured it along the same vein as either a Scooby-Doo-ish type show where they solve mysteries or go on adventures, or like "The Brady Kids." Something to that extent, I guess.

The time frame could have been set in the mid-90s for the Cosby Kids cartoon to maybe air on television.

I looked in all the pages and Im surprised nobody mentioned this character Leisure Suit Larry. I think this wouldve made a funny show as an adult cartoon...But I dont think we'll see it happen since Al Lowe is retired.

I would have to stay Crash Bandicoot, sometimes the gameplay in those games is a bit low, but the cutscenes and artwork are really entertaining, and fun to look at. Perfect material for a Cartoon.

There was also a Cathy animated special on CBS.
Dagwood appeared in the new Garfield Gets Real movie.

Beetle Bailey would appeal to people now-there's always some slacker soldier type people ID with-it would just updated now to keep up with the times.

There was a Hagar cartoon?

A new Flash Gordon cartoon would work.

Mr. Bill could have worked as a cartoon show-instead of relying on a live-action hand to move the characters around. Would people go for it or would it have been too sadistic?

Because the comic it was based on wasn't popular enough, and the movie was a bomb. As previously stated, box office failures don't get TV spinoffs.

A cartoon series of Crash Bandicoot and Conker the squirrel. I mean come on they did it for Rayman, Mario, and Sonic so why not these two characters? I think it would work out quite well.
