As much as I liked Bebe's Kid's, a t.v. show simply wouldn't work for the sole fact that the guy who created them, Robin Harris, passed away at some point during the film's production. The film was originally supposed to be live action with Harris actually starring, but he passed away, so the studio decided to make the film animated and have someone voice the lead character. I think had Haris lived, the film, wether live action or animated, would have greater. But without Harris's involvement, a t.v. show wouldn't feel right.
As for other shows that should have/could have been, I've been thinking that if Saturday Mornings were still huge with kids, and Kid's WB and the other networks were still in the game with new (and I mean NEW, not repeats of cable shows) series, here's some shows we could have had:
Supernatural The Animated Series: Sure, the adventures would have to lighter to fit the FCC regulations, but the adventures of young Sam and Dean Winchester while they were teenagers (or around the age they were in the S4 ep After School Special) would have ruled.
Young Bruce Wayne Adventures: This was on the table before Smallville was before I recall, but for whatever reason it never got off the ground. But in animated form, young Bruce traveling the world, learning how to become a detective and becoming a martial arts master could have worked.
Heroes: If NBC were still in the Saturday Morning Animation game, we'd have gotten an animated, lighter adaption for Saturday Mornings, guaranteed.
Nacho Libre: Jack Black's comedy from a few years ago would have fit in right on Fox Kid's Saturday Morning lineup.
