Cartoon moments: Getting crap past the radar

I just remembered another one from Cow and Chicken:

In the episode "Child Star", where Cow was among a number of aspiring young actresses auditioning for the role of Pretty Little Girl, one of them turned out to be a boy masquerading as a girl.

He'd never have had a chance at landing the role, to be honest - his name was "John Thomas".

Adventure Time:

"City Of Thieves" can be summed up as one long concurring virginity ("You stole my purity") and murder ("My hands are unclean") joke.

Blood Under the Skin:

The entire shower scene, including the dude yelling, "My most private part!"

In "What Is Life?" the Ice King is found lying in his underwear on top of a leopard spot bed flicking through a magazine with a cover of a pair of breasts and a stylized heart in the top corner.

In "Prisoners of Love" they actually get away with a gay joke. Finn mentions a lava man is 'hot'.
Finn: [realizing what he just said] Wait, wait! I don't mean hot, like "sexy" hot...
Jake: No. You do mean "sexy" hot.

LSP's father is named Lumpy Space Dad, though he's never called by his initials.

:anime: God I love Adventure Time.

Cartoon nudity. I know it's acceptable when it happens to an animal/non-human, but I'll never know how human cartoon nudity, especially in kid's cartoons got past the radar.

We've seen Dexter, Mac, The Mayor, Flem & Earl, and at least a few other cartoon cartoon humans get away with mooning the audience, which I've always found weird that parental groups never complained, especially with someone as young as Mac.

Hey Arnold:

- In the episode "The Racing Mule" Oskar yells "Go Glueboy, you big crazy ass!" They tried to cover up the word "ass" with a horn, but it is still audible to those who have good ears.

- In the episode Suspended
Harold: ...Due to outside circumcisions.
Arnold: -stances!
Harold: Right, outside circumstances!

It's also worth noting that Harold is Jewish.

Animaniacs:

Judge: Have you subpoenaed the witness?
Yakko: Have I what?
Judge: Subpoenaed! Subpoenaed! Have you subpoenaed the witness?!
Yakko: I most certainly have not! You should be ashamed of yourself for even thinking of it!
(Then later, he's questioning the meter maid that gave the ticket.)
Yakko: Why did you give Dr. Scratchensniff a ticket?
Meter Maid: His parking meter had expired. That's a violation of the Burbank Penal Code.
Yakko: The what?
Meter Maid: The penal code! The penal code!
Yakko (To the judge): You know, the two of you oughta get together.

Yakko (practising a polite greeting with Hello Nurse): "How do you do? ...That thing with your tongue?!"

SpongeBob started getting crap past the radar with the beginning of first episode of season 2, with SpongeBob watching some questionable content on TV before Gary walked in causing him to quickly pretend to look for the sports channel. But the most surprising moment for me in that show was the "panty raid" in Mid-Life Crustacean. I did not need to know my favorite aquatic pals were perverts. And then there's Ren & Stimpy, which had that rather innuendo-laden closet scene in Sven Hoek.

There's quite a few examples from Justice League, here's what I can remember from the top of my head:

"Maid of Honor"
Princess Audrey: "I'm a world class party girl. I intend to go out with a bang. Several, if it can be arranged."

"The Terror Beyond"
Ichthultu: "Speak to me, child of Thanagar."
Hawkgirl: "Nothing to say. I have a gesture for you, but my hands are tied."

"Epilogue"
Waller: "Bruce's DNA was easy enough to obtain: he left it all over town."
Terry: "...?"
Waller: "Not remotely what I meant. "

Cant remember what episodes these two are from:

Black Canary: "Are you happy punching the bag or do you want to go a few rounds with me?"
Green Arrow: "..."
Black Canary:"I'm talking about sparring. "
Green Arrow: "That'd be nice too."

Hawkgirl: "You'd be wasting your time. I hear she's, y'know... [long pause] Brazilian."

Well, I always thought it was like a Bart Simpson thing. A typical prank that kids to young teenagers would usually do, so I guess it's not so outrageous to kids as it is to some parents.

If anything, I thought the older the character a got, the more a network would disapprove of mooning, like the Mayor.

One thing I've noticed about nudity used for comic effect (either in animation or live-action), is that naked male butts get past the censor, while naked female butts rarely do. Futurama is one of the very few animated shows to get naked female butts on the air as much as naked male butts.

What about the "Naked Tommy" episode of Rugrats where Tommy decides to become a nudist? He persuades Phil, Lil, and Chucky to do the same but then Tommy notices something about Lil. "Lil, can I ask you a question?"

There was another episode of Rugrats where Grandpa came home from the video store with some movies to watch with Tommy and Chuclkie while he was babysitting them. They all seemed innocent enough until he got to "his personal favorite" Lonely Space Vixens explaining that was for after they went to bed.

I also believe there was an episode of Chowder where Chowder bought an ice cream cone (or thrice cream as it's called in the show) for Mr. Fugoo, a giant floating tomato man. Mr. Fugoo begins to lick the ice cream cone mercilessly and the ice cream, not wanting to get licked like that I guess, suggests to Chowder that he bite off the tip of the cone and suck out the ice cream from the bottom. Chowder said that it was a great idea to which the ice cream cone responded "Tell that to my wife."

The Total Drama series has MANY, MANY examples. The Canadians are really light-hearted about this kind of stuff, but for this to go unedited on American TV was a pleasant surprise:

- One recent episode had Heather one letter away from finishing spelling "*****".

-Slap Slap Revolution's "tiny sausage" joke.

Don't know if this counts as getting crap past the radar, but in the Inspector Gadget episode I'm watching (Movie Set), in one scene, Gadget's eyes are binoculars and while he's getting a closer look at MAD-agent-of-the-day Lana Lamour, he pans down and we see her boobs.

A more staighter version is in the Transformers Universe, In G1, there was a certain Dinobot named Slag, and there's a curse word named Slag, which was introduced in Beast Wars. Granted the UK edited out any usage of the word, but you got to wonder how Hasbro got past with naming one of the Dinobots that back in the 80's. Considering it's a vulgar word and all down there in UK.

Also the TF curse word Scrap, remove the 'S' and what do you get?

In an episode of "Adventure Time", there is a scene where the characters' clothes burn off and everyone is naked. The crew decided to censor the characters' private parts with beavers. The network obviously said no, so they decided to replace it in the final cut with... wood.
