i have a little 2003 pontiac grand am and i just blew out both of my rear speakers which i believe to be 6 x 9s so i went down to my closest speaker shop and talked to a guy who told me some aftermarket speakers i could get but the wiring is a little different so those speakers would not produce bass just treble. he said i could get sub woofers for my bass which i had wanted anyway no the question is he has 10s for $250.00 plus installation and 12s for $350.00 plus installation is there really that much of a difference between 10s and 12s?

12's will hit harder if that's what your after, like if you want people to hear you blocks away, but 10's will do just fine if you just want good bass. Keep in mind the amps and boxes play an important part as well in the quality of bass output. I've seen one 10 with a good 300 watt amp, in a ported box, produce better bass then 2 12's in a sealed box with a poor 800 watt amp. No point in having bigger sound if it's not that good.

12s hit way harder 10s hit the highs better, i sujest type Rs they hit hard and sound good, i have 1 12 in my little mirage and it sounds amazing you can get a 12 type r for about 150 if you look around dont get stuff from best buy way over priced and they have shit wiring and boxes
