Car audio (speakers and sub) cut out?

Why would this be?
The car is not turned on but i have the music playing, then when i turn up volume after while it begins to cut out bass, then all sound is lost, until i turn the volume down again? Could this be the battery struggling to supply power. I bought one of those things u connect to battery and it gives a reading (the thing u put black and red wire on the positive and negative terminals of the battery) of about 11-12, then when turned up it drops to 10-9, then i notice it starts to cut out?
Any suggestions on fixing this?
Ive only had the whole pioneer sound system for about 4 months.evrything is connected perfectly.

its not the battery. somewhere along the way your wire gauge is not thick enough for the amount of power going through it. where that is your going to have find out for yourself.

power leads too thin, or too long, or bad earth for amp. The load current is so high that supply resistance is becoming significant & dropping your working voltage for the amp.

ok first thing, when a car is running, the alternator is the main power supply of your system while the car is running. the only way a system will draw power from the battery while running is if the amp draw is greater then the amp output of your alternator. while your car is off and system going your battery is now the main power supply. I dont know how many watts your system is but say your runnin a constant 1000 RMS, it will play for a minute but then your battery doesn't have enough charge to fully power the sound so probably your amp has a anti surge or protector somethin like that. but it will cause it to shut off to keep it from getting damaged. If you wanted to run your system like that get a bigger second battery for the trunk and a battery isolator. if need a talk threw [email protected]
