car audio remote wire question?

It should be ok actually. In fact, I have run multiple amps along with 12v cooling fans off the remote wire (not recommended) But your situation should be no problem.... Give it a shot. If it was to be too much, the head unit has a protection for the remote wire incase it shorts to ground. Just need to reset the HU, but I have ran many more things off a single remote turn on lead....

I have a buick with the powered diversity antenna. I bought a newer pioneer deck and it only has remote amp lead. My question is is it ok to run both my amp turn on and the power antenna wire to the amp lead on the deck or will that hurt the radio?

thanks

Todd

No. You'll most likely will need to install a relay. The REM circuitry inside the HU can only provide so much current. The antenna AND amp may exceed this.

I have a diagram to wire one up if you need it - email or IM me [email protected]
