So i wanted to install a pair of subs in my cra for a while and i have been looking at a few models.....i dont want to buy a speaker then build an enclosure....and i dont want to buy one with an enclosure becuase they tend to be expensive.....then an idea came into my head, what about bass amplifiers? if i go out and buy a bass amp (ya know, with the box and speaker and everything) would that work? i was going to wire the speaker directly into my car stereo and not use the built in amplifier at all......the enclosures look professional and bass amp speakers are basically dedicated subs right?......now i know that the speakers impedance has to be 4 ohms (to be run by the stereo) and it has to be sensitive enough....but does this whole idea sound feasible?
