I am interested in how to become a car audio installer. I really enjoy working with speakers and wiring and all that stuff. I recently installed an amp and loved every bit of it. I was wondering if there was a high demand for this position, where i could go to school to train for it, and how much one makes?

Well you will want to open your own business and to do so you need a degree in business, accounting and electronics as well as marketing to get a loan from a bank to open a shop. What you make will depend on your sales and skill level as well as demand in the area.
You could go to a tech school and learn auto/electronics and go work for best buy to gain experence and then take your accounting and marketing later and go open a shop.

its really all based on commission and markup. there is always a demand for audio, especially in areas where lil rich white boys can have their mommies and daddies pay for anything they want. however, finding a place of employment really aint the easiest. i would recommend checking out best buy or any store that provides car audio installation.
when it comes to making bank, think: whats the competition chargin for similar units and how much is the cost? obviously you want to make a profit, but how much really depends on how much value the customer will see in your service.

Well...you just go to an automotive school, but they will teach you way more than that...if you want to install just car audios go to best buy or some store like that. Thats pretty much your best choice and it pays the average. Its not a high demanding job unfortunately so you'll probably get around $10 an hour for starters...if you know what you're doing
