I have a 3 year old rottweiler that I got from the shelter about 2 weeks ago. He's very sweet and loving but so stubborn. I'm trying to teach him basic obedience but he just won't listen. (yea I'm a bad trainer whatever call me what you want).
I firmly reprimand him when he does something he's not suppose to and he totally ignores me. I read a lot of books about obedience training but nothing's been working. I heard that you have to train at a young age or it's too late. Is this true? It's only been 2 weeks, should I just give it some time? Please don't say I shouldn't of gotten a rottweiler because I don't have any experience, I DO have experience with dogs like rotties. I had a pit bull before & I trained him & he was very obedient but I trained him at a young age.
