Can I replace my radio faceplate with a different model?

My car was recently broken into and they stole the faceplate of my radio. I had an Alpine CDA-9847 and have had very little luck finding one online as a replacement. I came across a similar looking model, a CDA-9853, and wonder if it would still work. Obviously stuff like WMA support may not work if my old radio didn't but would the basic functionality of the radio be ok? I've heard it work with Pioneer and other brands but unfortunately don't know anyone with an Alpine head unit to test it.

but it will not work due to multiple factors
pins, communication standards, etc.
