Can I reduce car audio static noise by putting a capacitor in parallel?

or would I also have to use an inductor, Im just wondering If I can give it a crisper sound, also what value of capacitance and or inductance would be good.
 
Inductor in series, capacitor in parallel. This will get rid of the whine from the alternator but not static coming over with the radio transmission. Capacitor is best, get the largest you can, say 4500 micro farads and connect it correctly for polarity.
