I was advised into taking out PPI on a business loan which i did, However I went ill with a bad back and claimed on the insurance. However, I was told I couldn't claim on the PPI as I had to be off work for a long while before claiming and it would not cover the monthly repayments I was told when I was agreeing to the insurance.
I nearly lost my home and my business due to the financial difficulties in not working.
I think I took the insurance over 6 years ago . Can I still claim for mis selling?
I was self employed at the time

Yes, you were obviously miss-sold, however I believe the time limit is 6 years from when the loan was taken out.

You can claim back only the cost of the PPI premiums and I assume you stopped paying that when they refused your claim .. however IF there is a lot of money involved you may still have a claim from when they refused payment & it could be worth seeing a Solicitor..

WARNING the web is full of PPI reclaim cowboys who will take 50% of anything you get (and will only take on the most clear cut simple cases anyway).
