Can anyone help me with car audio?

I have 2 12" Sony xplod subwoofers with 1200 watts. I don't know what size amp I need. I'm guessing I should use a dual channel amp, but please help me out

To be on the safe side, so as not to damage your 1200 W speakers, choose a dual channel amp (or two single channel amps) with say 600 W per channel (half the power rating of the speakers). This is 600 W music power - about 150 W RMS (real power).

You will also need dual channel pre-amp with tone controls, etc.

well you never want too much in this case..so just go with a 1000 watt and have like best buy or somewhere adjust it for you.
