I bought a set of Sony Xplod 320wat speakers for my 1993 ford Taurus Station and the guide on best buy.com said they'd fit, and I tried to install them in the back of my car and replace the speakers in the back, but they won't fit, so I took them to a car audio place and they said they wouldn't fit and a ford taurus only fits 5 by 7's.
So my question is; has anyone put 6 by 9's in there taurus wagons? and are there any 320 wat 5 by 7's made by sony that I can put in instead?

You might be able to do a custom installation if there is room. How good are you with a reciprocating saw and a drill? Do you have speaker grills for your new speakers? Is there adequate clearance for the magnet assembly of the more powerful speaker? If you can answer yes to all of these questions you may be able to enlarge the speaker openings and drill new mounting holes. Be careful in all measurement and cutting as it is much more difficult to replace metal than it is to remove it. Good luck if you should attempt this modification.
Otherwise you could return the speakers for replacement or refund and inform best buy.com that the guide contains inaccurate information.
