Californication, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 1999 Warner Brothers

Ok from me. I do really like a few songs from this (they seem to be the ones you like least, Saviour, Get On Top) but overall in comparison to BSSM it does very little for me.
I prefer the old peppers. Maw.

Yah, it sounRAB better on worse speakers. I prefer his work on BSSM though. He gave them a more melodic take while keeping their edge. Californication lost that edge, I think.

i couldn't agree with you more. the reason frusciante doesn't shine so much is because RHCP sound is derived from the bass/drummer combo... not because hes not talented.

No, you didn't. You asked how it wasnt a metaphor.
It isn't a metaphor, certainly not in the context presented, for anything.

I'm so-so with them, its like with the White Stripes or Nirvana if they're on the radio i'll be glad they are because its something enjoyable but I doubt i'll ever get a CD or go out of my way to listen to them.

well, i personally love the chili peppers and they are by far my favorite band, but i could give a f**k less if everyone hates them. I enjoy it when people share their opinions, because i will probably tell others about how much their favorite banRAB suck. its the circle of life!

haha nice review, I do think that it is a little too critical, in the same sense the originator of this thread was way too kind. Californication is an okay album maybe even a good album. It is definately not "flawless" or a "Great Classic".

Repeat this with me

I-M-A-G-E-R-Y NOT M-E-T-A-P-H-O-R

Christ its closer to allegory then metaphor, as I said before wait until you've done more than fourth grade english please. All you really know is about perioRAB and punctuations, stick to that. Its imagery, simple as that.

I would perfer people explain why they are good or bad if thats the way they are going to put it.

When someone posts "I like them there good." that's not telling us anything. Explain why, what aspects made you think that, are they talented, not talented, original, unoriginal...stuff like that.

Being a virtuoso means you can essentially play anything. By no means is Chad a bad drummer, but somehow I can't imagine him being able to play, say, "I" by Meshuggah.
