Pretty decent episode after all. It introduced a solid new character along with having a single focus point (like last week's episode). Let's hope this season continues the pace.

Moto, there's an edit button. Don't double post within minutes of each other.

Anyway, I kinda liked the second act, especially the inflatable Homer decoys and the final gag.

"Is that a real thing?"
"No."

My favorite part was when the crazy woman vowed revenge, then said, "By the way, I told the cable guy to come by between 10 and 12 on Wednesday." "But Wednesday's not good for me." "I know, Marge. I know. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!"

I am loathe to admit it, but I think that episode of The Simpsons was actually good. Not laugh out loud funny, but it was better than last week's episode (which I didn't see, but I heard wasn't that good). And I only watched it because it had Maya Rudolph as Julia and you know how much I love "Saturday Night Live" (another long running American TV show that most critics say has declined in quality--coincidence? The only difference is that SNL isn't a sitcom and, IMO, Lorne Michaels cares enough about the show to at least make an attempt at reviving it)

And if anyone cares, the couch gag was the same one from last season's "Homerazzi" (the Homer goes through human evolution sequence), only Marge's "What took you so long?" was redubbed with "Did you bring the milk?"

2nd ep of the season, and another 2 jobs for Homer. First he was briefly a paulbearer, until he fell into an open grave, then an opera singer due to his fall. The only "job" if you'd call it one that he hasn't done, but attempted to do is be a prostitute (in "Team Homer", he attempted to sell his body to Marge for $500 to cover the cost).

Good episode, this season's been good to watch so far. The new character was an almost must for a show like this, it'll be neat to see what a rival will do for Marge.

B+

P.S. a little light with laughs with this one... and I'm tired of the cameos of celebs.... I guess I'm not the only one with this opinion, even if it did fit a bit with tonight's episode.

Definitely the highlight of tonight's Fox shows IMO.

While it is another "Homer gets a new job" episode (although he still has his job at the plant), at least it doesn't turn into a "jerkass Homer" episode.

I kinda liked this one, I wonder if we will ever see Homer's stalker again since she did swear to vow revenge on Marge, but only time will tell.

And I know this is probably going to sound wierd but I really liked Marge's dress in this one, I like that fancy look on her.

The pacing was even worse in this than in the plane one!

"I'm in a grave! Now I'm an opera singer! Now this woman is coming on to me! Now she's trying to kill me! Now I've been transported back in time to the 15th century! Now I have herpes! LOOK, A GORILLA!"

Yeah I'd have to agree. This one was all over the place, and very little made me laugh. The only thing that really got a rise out of me (and not in THAT way, you sickos) was when Julia disrobed in front of Homer in the middle of the house. That woman's got guts, what with Marge in the other room and everything. Was she expecting Homer to do her right then and there? :p Strangely we haven't had a "Homer is tempted by another woman" plot for a long time, it seems, so I was interested in seeing where that went. But it didn't lead anywhere I particularly enjoyed, sadly.

The funniest parts were:
* The faux buffet restaurant names like "Griddler on the Roof".
* The Simpson family going to what they thought was some buffet but it was a funeral instead!

it wouldn't even be in my top 20 worst episodes... that one with Santa's little Helper as Duff MacKenzie? Ooohhh... gag... man. Who pooped that one up?

Sort of enjoyable, but all and all just another "weird job to give Homer so we can make random jokes about said job" episode. Some good gags (I knew that was supposed to be Entourage, I just never seen that show) but pretty much the same stuff as the last few years.

I will say the "Did you get the Milk" thing pretty much made the reused ultra-long couch gag worth while.

BTW, anyone else notice the chalkboard gag's reference to Rupert Murdock buying the Wall Street Journal?

Although the last act was kind of weird and out of nowhere, I thought the episode was pretty good. I was consistently laughing throughout. I think it's because Homer was so simple about everything, it was nice to see and entertaining. Like TnAdct1 said, he wasn't being a jerkass, he was just being Homer.
