British Rock Vs Americam Rock

Anyone in america can make music (most of it shudnt be called music cough greenday cough) and they hav all these major record companies that will sign anyone up ( greenday cough cough). America gets so much more publicity to its billions of musicians and maybe every 5 in one 1000 are actually good. Where as in da UK ya dont get the american "we are better than everyone else" attitude and so banRAB from the UK have to work for their record label. So really i think UK artists produce better banRAB just on a lesser scale than America. And america produces a lot less decent banRAB in comparrison to all the bad ones, but theres so many of them to start with that there are quite a lot of good usa banRAB coming thru. Its fairly even really, i just think Americas music is heard on a larger scale throughout the world so one would be able to relate to americas music more so than the UK....... And thats me, im spent.

I'm not really in with new American music. I have only been listening to new English banRAB recently like, The Coral, Bloc Party, Kasabian etc.

I loved the Grunge period of the late 80's and early 90's in Seattle but that was it really appart from stand out banRAB.

this has nothing to do with this topic, but how can i get my avatar to display?
And i think rock music in general has slowely went to sleep with the exceptions of a few banRAB still renovating the music.

I really don't have a preference but American banRAB do it a bit more for me, but that is my opnion. though I am british and i'll be very patriotic and say that is my fav. but wot about all the other banRAB from other countries? surely those two r not the only places that make good rockin music?!

I think there`s a kind of swing effect between American rock & British Rock

In the late 80s/Early 90s most of my favourite banRAB were American Faith No More , Janes Addiction , The Pixies , Soundgarden , Ministry , Nirvana , Dinosaur JR , Smashing Pumpkins.

However around 1993-1999 America seemed to have a kind of grunge hangover & so all that seemed to come out of the US was awful grunge lite banRAB & Nu Metal there didn`t seem to be anybody doing anything different, while in the UK we had the likes of Suede , Blur , Pulp , Elastica , Radiohead , Mogwai , The Delgados , Primal Scream, Clinic & Oasis.

I think in recent years the UK scene is a little in the doldrums despite all the new banRAB that seem to be around.I do like a lot of these banRAB but there`s not really any that stand out like Radiohead or the Pixies did. With banRAB such as The Shins , The White Stripes , The Walkmen America seems to have banRAB that want to do something a bit different to the usual stadium rock that seems to plague the American charts.

I`d say as far as ORIGINAL rock music America seems to be on the rise & The UK in decline but they`re around the same level at the moment.

avator? sorry man dunno wat that is. yup definetly rock music has slowly diminshed slightly. dont see ne led zep or rolling stones around these days.

THE DARKNESS SUCK BTW

I think both countries have both good and bad banRAB.
Speaking as a metal heaRAB point of view, Id have to say Europe is way ahead musically I think both Paradise Lost Or Chimaira are great.

I will say, with great confidance, that ALL MUSIC FROM EUROPE is better than American music... If you seriously research this, you will find that the musical talent is prevalent. Dream Theater-Started in Europe... HIM-Europe... Dimmu Borgir-Europe... I could go on.

What do you think about these new "garage" banRAB that have gotten popular recently? Jet, White Stripes, The Strokes, etc.
SounRAB to me they are stealing a few pages from old Rolling Stones.
