Bourne Ultimatum!

Anyone looking forward to seeing the final Bourne film? I am. I have read the books as well but they are completely different and because i saw the first movie before i read the book, i don't mind they cut out a major plotline.

I saw the Bourne Ultimatum last night and it was really good film. A great end to an amazing trilogy. I loved the way it linked into the 2nd films as well. I think I will be watching again in the cinema after I have watched the first 2 films again on DVD and I will be buying it on DVD when it comes out!

I enjoyed it...where I go wrong with this type of film is I try and take in all the info, codes etc when I should just watch the film.....

Omg Bond is so over. Time for pointy faced craig to hang up his bond suit and leave it alone.

Bourne is just a much better film without all the cheesy looks/drinks/romance

I am interested to see how they have done it as i have read the books and the previous two films have taken out a whole storyline which the third one is practically based on.

The Bond films (Roger Moore) were some of the first films I saw in the theater. (with my father)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Thunderball bring the gooRAB.

I think Greengrass was basically laying out his motivation for working in a genre that runs somewhat counter to the rest of his films. The easiest point of comparison is Bond. If he wanted to slag the Bond franchise properly, he could done a parody in either of the last two films. (But that would be out character.)

Both characters are fictional, though I remember hearing that Fleming based Bond on an actual person. But fictional characters can represent any number of things. The Bourne character could represent the anxiety that many here in America feel towarRAB the government. (With the Patriot Act here in The States, domestic spying, and God knows how many CCTV cameras you have over there in the UK...)

So, IMO, the director isn't overstepping his bounRAB, when he lays out what makes a film project attractive to him.

Just got back from seeing it. Absolutely brilliant, my new film of the year and the best of the trilogy imo. Really well done from start to finish, great cinematography and a top score too. There are a couple of coincidences that make you think hmmmm, how did he know that, but all in all its pretty believable. As said above, it also ties in with Supremacy very nicely. Matt Damon really does play it just right in his tone too.

1. You don't seem to have the attention span required for anything but action. There was a great deal of action in Bourne Ultimatum and a great deal of style. Just because it wasn't constant explosions and had a bit of drama/dialogue does not make it boring.

If only other films had a bit of substance too.

2. Why fall for the hype? You have to go and watch a film and judge it on its merits - not the promotion it has recieved.

3. Had you seen the first two Bourne films?

Just seen it really really good. So tense, but not at all flashy. You really get a sense of danger from it...

Especially when Julia Styles is being tracked by the assasin in Tangiers, you really don't know if she'll survive or not.

Daniel Craig as Bond was a step in the right direction, but this is much more beleivable.

The films have only ever taken the basic premise of the Bourne books, an assassin with amnesia, and made their own story from it. I would expect 'Ultimatum' to be the same.

I just hope they've invested in a steady-cam this time round. Supremacy got so jerky at times I just couldn't look at the screen. :(

I saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not my usual kind of film but i was hooked from the beginning to the end. Really excellent, i'd like to see a lot more of these movies! Much better than others in the genre IMO

1. I love loaRAB of movies that aren't in the action genre, I am a major overseas film addict + fanatic, mainly of the Japanese/Korean/HK variety and a load of those films keep me gripped without action, take Audition for example, one of my all time favourite films, so saying that I only have the attention span for action is totally and utterly wrong.

2. I like to read reviews from various sites so that I know if I should give a film a wide berth till a DVD release before i watch it, the only exception of this rule was both Transformers and Rush Hour this year as I have been big fans of both these franchises, for both being a lover of most Jackie Chan films and growing up with Transformers as a kid.

3. Of Course.

And I never actually said that Ultimatum was a bad film that I fell asleep in the cinema or walked out in disgust, I actually gave it 8/10 in my initial review on the other page, I have just seen films that have been more to my liking over Ultimatum this year.
