Bouquet of Barbed Wire ITV 1

I'd say it was very much of its time, when did a drama series last cause as much ho-harr as Barbed Wire, The Borgias, I Claudius, the Naked Civil Servant etc?

I was too young for the original but I'll give this a spin, hopefully they have not jettisoned all the permutations
that made it so notorious!

And the last episode - Another unintentional comedy that made hardly any sense..
5 mins in Hermoine Norris said "I have something i want to tell you"

I thought is this the moment where she says "If i hadnt been so stupid,i could have been on Spooks right now on BBC1"

The original Bouquet actually had a sequel called Another Bouquet -- When Trevor Eve jumped,i think they already knew there was gong to be no sequel to this TV Turd..

6 weeks of the absurd "Identity" drama and 3 weeks of even the worse "Bouquet"

Cant wait to see whats on ITV next Monday...its comedy night for sure :)

Sarah gave us a clue yesterday: when Peter did the noble thing and gave up his partnership, Sarah all of a sudden decided that it was better for them to end their relationship and for him to go back to his family. How kind and self-sacrificing of her!
Either that or she doesn't see him as being that attractive when he's just an unemployed old man rather than a partner in a successful firm.
Oh what an aphrodisiac power can be for women!

Why do all those pretty young PAs and researchers sleep with fat old MPs?

All seems rushed to me, they could have spread it over 6 episodes at least. There is no tension, even if you hadn't seen the original you almost know what is going to happen before it does, for me you don't really get a connection with the characters, so you really don't care what happens to them and before you know it the programme has finished. Shame, it was a good story line that did not deserve to be reduced to a 3 part drama.

Blimey!
For some reason I wasn't expecting that!
&on the desk too! :o

How many episodes is this Series then?

I can't really get my head around the fact that it's been remade to suit the present day (internet and all, etc) rather than set in the 70s or whenever the original was made. :o

If it climaxes like the original
Gavin will end up with Sarah, Cassie will finish up with Peters psychiatrist and Peter will commit suicide.

If, as has been suggested, this re-make is rushed and changed beyond recognition due to lack of funds then surely it would have been less expensive to just buy the rights to the original and broadcast that. Reading all the comments about the re-make it is clear that those who saw the original still remember it as being dark and disturbing, which was intended.

I would love to watch the original again instead of this watered down version.

I think the problem is that as a remake of the original, it is nothing like it in plot, characters and style. This is more of an ITV thriller mystery which is fine on it's own merit but shouldn't really be associated with the original. And from the start I have a hard time believing Pru would be attracted to a complete cock like Gavin. There was no foundation to the attraction. If they'd shown him charming at the beginning I could have understood. Anyway I will watch the final part to see what happens

The one thing that was blatantly obvious was it was so rushed ! they tried to cram a long series into 3 hour long episodes !and consequently the story jumped and it was so disjointed and so much was missed out in the process !
