Bouquet of Barbed Wire ITV 1

i haven't heard anything about this proggramme or heard about the original.

But wow that sex scene was a bit unexpected it just feels a bit disjointed and out of sequence.

Agree. In the original Pru played with her dad's affection for her by very subtly flirting with him - she knew what she was doing to him . That was the main undercurrent I remember and it was very dark and sexy. .You could cut the atmosphere between them with a knife. This Pru is pretty and affectionate but she's not got that danger about her that the original Pru had and consequently the point is lost.
I hope it gets better.

Its just that they have changed the story so much ! As it stands its ok ! i just thought it would be more shocking and controversial as in the origional Pru was so manipulitive and used everybody ,shes so innocent in this one in comparison ! itll be interesting to see how it ends next week !

No, all we saw this time was her standing there looking miserable with her face all bruised. That's not my idea of rough sex.More like domestic violence.:(

My sister did something similar with a guy who emotionally abuses her, has broken her nose and tried to throttle her. It happens. Love is a funny thing.

I quite understoof that bit, she pressed him for answers about there finances and should she be worried and he fobbed her off, she got so frustrated that she ended up screaming which since she has never asked him any questions before must be quite a shock to Peter to be questioned!

i have lost my temper so much that i have ended up screaming at my husband as he just aviods the questions and doesn't listen to me as he doesn't want to face the truth, so i can see why she would have that reaction if everyone around her is lying and ignoring problems.

Every drama critic in the papers disagrees with you. Imogen Pouts may not be your idea of the character of Prue but 'terrible' and 'wooden' she ain't!
And the cast are all superb. But then we all have to have our own opinions I guess.
I do agree it's rushed. I find that with every single drama for TV these days (and even films). Part of it is audience's attention span but a lot is to do with lack of money. Their budgets are generally so tight that they can only afford limited time to shoot. There are also too many numpties controlling the purse strings and making decisions when they do not have a clue about what makes a good drama. Sad. But that's the way drama is going now. And writers have their work mangled because there 'isn't time' or money.

it started of well and just petered (See what i done there?) out.

The girl who played Pru was plain annoying and I was glad she was killed.
Trever eve was good as usual but all in all a dissapointment.

I don't think that this version is going to have the same dramatic ending that the original had.

I'm finding this version very wishy-washy, the original was disturbing.

I hate it when great movies/TV series are re-made and ruined.

The sex scenes in the original were done so much better as well. In this version they were almost laughable.
The first scene between Prue and Gavin appeared to be on fast foward. The way they were rutting away reminded me of one of those speeded up bits in soft core comedies in the 70's, like "Confessions Of a Window Cleaner".
Then we had Peter table-ending Sarah. He drops his trousers and says "ok ?", she grunted something..then it was all over. If that's an example of his staying power, he had better look around for some of the little blue pills.
