An appeal to authority, I'm sure that's going to help him get Tea Party votes, for a bill that the CBO has called out for cutting less than a trillion dollars over 10 years, and has absolutely no chance at becoming law.

Boehner wants everyone to "follow the leader" (him). Isn't that exactly what the Tea Party is against?

cut cap and balance WAS a compromise



It gave them their debt ceiling increase that Obama demanRAB.

It gave the Republicans the cap on spending

It gave the tea party their cuts and balanced budget amendment.


Unfortunately it's not a real compromise that Obama or Dems want as that wasn't just voted down, it was blocked.

Maybe if Obama ACTUALLY submitted a bill, he could say something.

Maybe if Harry Reid ACTUALLY passed a bill in the Senate, he too could say something.

So far, Boehner is the only "leader" who has actually done something ... gotten a bill passed in The House.

I don't think one party gets to decide what a compromise is....by...y'know...definition.

Raising the debt ceiling 10 trillion and cutting spending 5 dollars IS a compromise!

Compromise is poison in this debt situation. Really the only vision that offered any real hope was the extreme Tea Party position. Here and there Boehner has meant hope for necessary change. You durabfucks that think compromise on this debt thing is good are too fucking stupid to understand elementary math and haven't run so much as a newspaper route.

Boehner's problem is that he isn't hardcore enough.

No. The starting point is that the ceiling has to go up. Sane Republicans and Democrats both agree on that.

Democrats want tax increases
Republicans want spending cuts

Democrats moved, Republicans don't. The American public supports both tax increases and spending cuts.

Republicans look bad, and rightly so.

No, it doesn't need to go up. The ones who say it's necessary are the ones who want to keep the status quo running.

Cut spending, close off tax loopholes and do it NOW, not over 10 stupid years. Look durabass, anything that is extended out past the next elections is meaningless since everything can and will be changed then. So if it's not immediate and not done within a year, it's a crock of shit no matter which side proposes it.



You DO realize that democrats have already put plans forward to create another stimulus bill the moment the debt ceiling is raised right?

So within months after giving them 2.5 trillion dollars more to borrow, they will have already spent half of it. So what are you going to support in a year or two when we once again slam into the new ceiling?
Oh that's right, whatever the Democrats say they need.

With Boehner and Obama going at it, they both look like morons who don't care about the people and aren't doing what is in there best interest.

Now here comes the best part ...

Boehner isn't running for President, Obama is. So Obama loses no matter what in this whole thing. Boehner will win reelection in his district, Obama very well may not win the country because of this.

Here was really pisses me off. These freshman douche bags elected in 2010, won votes, and quite a few, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO CONTROL BOTH HOUSES. I'm fucking sorry but just because a small portion of the electorate came out to vote you into office, doesn't mean that you don't have to compromise with the rest of house, senate, and white house.

Fucking scurabags.
