The media has been trying to walk around saying it, but the fact is, the Republicans have said they're OK with raising the debt ceiling, which averts this zorabie apocolypse the Dims are screaming about. Problem is, that's not good enough. Dims want to keep applying for more new credit carRAB to pay off old credit carRAB AND keep spending more money next week than last week.

If you're a right wing hack it was. It moved medicare spending to a voucher program that the states could NEVER afford which would kill it entirely.

Sometimes compromise is bad. This is a good example. Those that refuse to raise taxes need to stick to their guns. Raising taxes will not raise revenue. Raising taxes will put bigger nurabers in the playbook, so the moneyspenders will have more future-money to play with, and play with it they will... and we'll be right back here again, only with a bigger, scarier monster.

Cut/Cap/Balance isn't a compromise....it isn't "bipartisan" and it never was.
Boehner getting up and saying "well my bill will pass the senate" when he doesn't have control of the senate and Democrats do...is nothing but blowing smoke.
House Republicans are trying very hard to spin their side of the story, IMO it's not working with the American people. They can starve the beast and pretend that it'll help them vs. Obama. But by doing so they've taken the blame away from an Obama Economy he blames on Bush and gives him a talking point in the election where he can blame the current mess on them for not compromising.
The polls show Americans want spending cuts and tax break removal (at least). Something like 60-70%. The right cannot win the middle by pretending that what they're doing is just that, it's become too transparent. Sadly they're going to sabotage some really good Republicans who'd be running in 2012 with these antics.....I think Boehner understanRAB that.
